Since 1991, when this ship was restored to operational status, she has traveled up and down the East Coast and to the Great Lakes visiting other ports. Baltimore was one of eight ports on the East Coast where Liberty ships were assembled during World War II, and S.S. JOHN W. BROWN has visited all of the ports that produced these pieces vital to the total war effort.
